An unforgettable permablitz at one of Brisbane's longest running community gardens, to hear its histories, and redefine the garden's response to it's dynamic community. The focus of the design was on improving the access and pathways to the bushtucker gardens and reworking the unique gravity-fed compost system to feed into to-be-constructed raised garden plots.
Unique for this permablitz was the construction of earthbag walls to retain the raised garden beds. The construction of the beds was guided by Nicole, Phil and Steph Zannakis from Spiral and, whose awesome building skills were responsible for the new office building at Northey Street City Farm.
